Mel has led a successful 30-year career in primary education as a teacher, subject leader, deputy headteacher, teacher advisor and local authority primary advisor. She is the founder and director of one of the UK's leading curriculum providers, Cornerstones Education Limited.

Mel leads curriculum strategy and commercial development at Cornerstones and shares her knowledge and expertise by creating curriculum content and materials that support thousands of schools worldwide. She has developed and run several national professional development programmes for primary teachers and writes educational content, including blogs, articles, teaching resources and subject-specialist schemes of work. She created and hosted The Curriculum podcast and is an educational speaker and consultant.

Mel lives with her family and two dogs in Doncaster, Yorkshire.
